4. What should I expect from my first appointment?
Your first physiotherapy session is all about understanding you â your condition, your goals, and how we can help you feel and move better.
During your initial appointment, your physiotherapist will:
- Talk with you about your symptoms, medical history, and what youâd like to achieve.
- Assess your movement â this may include looking at how you move, testing strength or flexibility, and identifying any areas of pain or stiffness.
- Explain their findings in clear, simple terms and discuss what might be causing your problem.
- Create a personalised treatment plan, which may include hands-on therapy, exercises, lifestyle advice, or other techniques to help your recovery.
- Start treatment if appropriate during your first visit.
Youâll have plenty of time to ask questions, and everything will be explained before any treatment begins. Please wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move easily.
Our aim is to make you feel listened to, supported, and confident about your next steps toward recovery.
